Jensen joins the Louisiana: The State We’re In team

(Louisiana Statewide – Nov. 6, 2025) – Louisiana Public Broadcasting (LPB) is pleased to welcome Christina Jensen as anchor, reporter and producer for the long-running news and public affairs program, Louisiana: The State We’re In. A seasoned journalist with a passion for storytelling that connects communities, Jensen brings a wealth of experience and energy to LPB’s flagship series.

Jensen’s career in journalism has taken her from California to Florida and ultimately to Louisiana. Along the way — with stops in Monroe and later Baton Rouge, she has worked in local newsrooms, taking on multiple roles and mentoring emerging journalists.

A longtime viewer and supporter of LPB, Jensen says she was drawn to the network’s mission from the start.

“I was drawn to LPB because of its longstanding commitment to quality journalism, education, and service to Louisiana,” said Jensen. “Joining the team allows me to continue reporting meaningful stories while connecting viewers with the issues that impact their lives.”

Jensen views her role as a “watchdog for the community,” dedicated to bringing accountability, context, and human connection to every story she tells.

When she’s not reporting, Jensen enjoys exploring Louisiana’s rich culture, arts, and history — and cheering on the LSU Tigers.

Now in its 49th season, Louisiana: The State We’re In is LPB’s longest-running program. The show airs Fridays at 7:00 p.m. and Sundays at 4:30 p.m. on LPB; Fridays at 7:00 p.m. on WLAE-TV32 in New Orleans; and Fridays at 7:30 p.m. on WYES-TV, the PBS station for New Orleans and the Gulf Coast.
