Billy Cannon, LSU's first Heisman trophy winner, was a hero in Louisiana. Famous for his 89-yard “Halloween Run” in the 1959 game between LSU and Ole Miss, Cannon built a thriving orthodontic practice after a successful professional football career. That all changed when he was arrested and convicted for counterfeiting money. The road back to redemption was rocky, until he took a job at the Louisiana State Penitentiary… a role that changed the lives of prisoners, and his own. Bunnie Cannon, Billy's youngest daughter, explains why the Cannon family has chosen to participate in LPB’s new documentary film, along with other insights. Circles: The Life of Billy Cannon premieres September 14th at 7:00pm on LPB.
