The Ready To Learn initiative, funded by the U.S. Department of Education, is a CPB and PBS collaboration that creates high-quality educational media to support young children's skill development and school readiness for children ages 2-8.

Created by the Louisiana Legislature, LPB began broadcasting on September 6, 1975, with a clear mission: to educate, inform, and connect the citizens of Louisiana. From the start, LPB has remained a commercial-free network, dedicated to sharing meaningful stories for both children and adults.

Northwestern State University (NSU), founded in 1884 in Natchitoches, is Louisiana’s oldest continually occupied higher education site. Supporting LPB aligns with NSU’s commitment to education, culture, and community engagement, including sponsorship of GAME NOTES and the upcoming series LA 64 (2026).“These programs celebrate local talent and Louisiana’s history, reflecting our mission to educate, inspire, and bring communities together,” says CMO Cole Gentry. NSU combines hands-on research with interdisciplinary learning, fostering critical thinking and civic engagement.
