The American Revolution - Premiere Screening

Enjoy the story of America’s historic beginning in the place where Louisiana’s own history still echoes. Louisiana’s Old State Capitol, in partnership with Louisiana Public Broadcasting (LPB) and Louisiana America 250, invites you to enjoy the premiere of The American Revolution, the latest documentary from acclaimed filmmakers Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein and David Schmidt.

Join us Sunday, November 16 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. to see the first episode an hour before the broadcast premiere! Come early and enjoy complimentary food and drinks beginning at 5:30 p.m. and soak in the historic surroundings of Louisiana’s own 175-year-old Gothic architectural treasure.

The event is free, but seating is limited and you must register.

LDMA Spotlight on History

In honor of Veteran’s Day, the LDMA highlights stories from Louisiana’s military history. Louisiana servicemen and servicewomen have played critical roles in the United States military. Learn about their combat experiences and their often difficult transitions back to civilian life.

Ready to Learn

The Ready To Learn initiative, funded by the U.S. Department of Education, is a CPB and PBS collaboration that creates high-quality educational media to support young children's skill development and school readiness for children ages 2-8.

LPB is celebrating fifty years of service. Created by the Louisiana Legislature, LPB began broadcasting on September 6, 1975, with a clear mission: to educate, inform, and connect the citizens of Louisiana. From the start, LPB has remained a commercial-free network, dedicated to sharing meaningful stories for both children and adults.
