LPB Statement on Corporation for Public Broadcasting's Vote to Dissolve

(LOUISIANA STATEWIDE - January 7, 2026)

Statement from Clarence “C.C” Copeland, President & CEO, Louisiana Public Broadcasting

The CPB Board’s decision to dissolve the organization follows the loss of federal funding that has historically supported public broadcasting nationwide. For decades, CPB helped ensure that local stations like LPB could provide trusted children’s programming, emergency communications, and locally produced content for the people we serve.

While this is a significant change for the public media system, LPB’s mission remains the same. We are here to serve Louisiana. We will continue telling Louisiana stories, educating our children, and connecting communities across the state through our statewide network and digital platforms.

We remain committed to serving the citizens of Louisiana for the next 50 years and beyond.
