WHETHER AT HOME OR ABROAD - THERE'S A LOT OF CHRISTMAS TO EXPLORE ON LPB THIS WEEK
THE LPB TRADITION CONTINUES: A CHRISTMAS CONCERT AT THE GOVERNOR'S MANSION
AN EVENING AT THE GOVERNOR'S MANSION FEATURING MARC BROUSSARD
Tuesday 7:00pm
Louisiana-born singer/songwriter Marc Broussard lights up the stage with his dynamic blend of “bayou soul” for the premiere of AN EVENING AT THE GOVERNOR’S MANSION FEATURING MARC BROUSSARD – part of an LPB holiday tradition. Hosted by Governor Jeff Landry and First Lady Sharon Landry, Broussard’s music has been described a mix of R&B, funk, blues, rock, and pop, mixed with the distinct sounds of Southern roots. It’s this spirited blend that the Carencro native and his band brought to the stage for a set full of original music, along with a few holiday tunes as well. The intimate concert was captured by LPB and now takes its place in a long line of mansion performances taped for broadcast and shared with LPB’s statewide audience, making the series a Louisiana holiday tradition not to be missed.
“This is a production we look forward to every year,” says LPB President and CEO Clarence “C.C” Copeland. “Capturing a Louisiana talent like Marc Broussard at the beautiful Governor’s Mansion is a treat we are excited to share with the entire state. We are grateful to the Governor and First Lady, the Mansion staff, and Marc Broussard and his team for making this memorable program happen.”
As we mark our 50th year anniversary, LPB continues its commitment to bring viewers programs that celebrate Louisiana’s rich history and culture. Previous artists featured on AN EVENING AT THE GOVERNOR’S MANSION include multi-award-winning artists Deana Carter and Jon Batiste, Mandeville’s Amanda Shaw, The Preservation Hall All-Stars, Shreveport native Kix Brooks, Lake Charles native and Metropolitan Opera star Paul Groves, New Orleans jazz artist John Boutte’, and Zachary Richard with the Myrtle Place French Immersion Children’s Choir among many.
Support for An Evening at the Governor's Mansion with Marc Broussard is provided by Entergy.
