Humphrey takes on a long-vacant role at the Shipton Abbott police station, a charmingly old-fashioned outpost of the Devon & Cornwall Police, while Martha pursues her dream of opening a café. Both are hoping for a quieter life away from the pressures of the city, but soon discover that rural paradise comes with its own surprises, including a surprisingly high crime rate.
