LEGISLATURE WEEK ONE AND AN HISTORIC HUNGARIAN VISIT
LOUISIANA: THE STATE WE'RE IN
Friday 7:00pm & Sunday 5:00pm
This week, state lawmakers convene in Baton Rouge for the 2026 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature. They are expected to debate hundreds of proposed bills, including efforts to grant parishes more control over carbon capture projects and increased funding for the governor’s school voucher program. Governor Jeff Landry will begin the session by outlining his goals for the year.
People in rural Livingston Parish welcome a world leader. Hungarian President Tamás Sulyok toured the area to recognize the largest Hungarian settlement in the United States. Many in the community can trace their roots back to the original Hungarian immigrants who arrived in the 1890s, and they're fighting to keep their heritage alive. We hear from community members about the historic visit.
