LPB HONORS HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS FROM ACROSS THE STATE IN NEW BROADCAST PREMIERING FRIDAY, JUNE 26 AT 8:00 PM
(Louisiana Statewide – June 18, 2026) – Louisiana Public Broadcasting (LPB) brings the inspiring stories and achievements of seven Louisiana high school students to viewers in a new half-hour special, LOUISIANA YOUNG HEROES 2026. The program debuts Friday, June 26 at 8:00 PM on LPB’s statewide network and WLAE-TV in New Orleans. Viewers can also stream the program on demand following the broadcast premiere at lpb.org/heroes and on the LPB YouTube channel.
Celebrating its 30th anniversary, LPB’s Louisiana Young Heroes is a special initiative honoring students from across the state for their service to their communities, academic achievements, and positive impact on those around them. The seven students being recognized in 2026 are:
- Jaden Armstrong of Baton Rouge (Senior at Liberty Magnet High School)
- Marleigh Auzenne of Lafayette (Sophomore at Early College Academy)
- Andrew Chambers of New Iberia (Junior at Moreauville High School)
- Charlotte Gomes of New Orleans (Senior at Benjamin Franklin High School)
- John Parker of Bush (Junior at Covington High School)
- Maylie Stanley of Glenmora (Senior at Pineville High School)
- Brooklynn Warner of Ponchatoula (Junior at Hammond High Magnet School)
