Christina Jensen takes us to Grand Isle to see one of the new trends in seafood. Grand Isle Jewel Oysters are grown in floating baskets instead of in the mud and silt on the bottom, giving them a unique, and highly prized flavor.

Next, Johnny Atkinson visits a crawfish farmer who has a very narrow window to harvest soft-shell crawfish which can be eaten shell and all!

Then LA64's Karen LeBlanc takes us to Franklin Parish where the small town of Wisner is known for it's catfish.

NEW to LPB Saturdays! Join us for a culinary tour showcasing the rich food traditions of New Orleans. The series explores cultural connections in every bite with Dook Chase, the executive chef of the historically significant Dooky Chase Restaurant. Episodes follow Dook as he visits places and people at the heart of New Orleans' legendary cuisine. Then, he brings those experiences back to the kitchen where he prepares dishes that incorporate the flavors and techniques of the city’s mosaic of culinary traditions. With an emphasis on how dishes and ingredients reflect the city's history, Dook connects with chefs who have elevated Creole, Cajun and West African cuisine to the forefront of fine dining in New Orleans. Dook also visits local Italian, Vietnamese, Indian and Latin American establishments where chefs recreate the food from their homeland.
