Gift FAQs

What is a thank you gift?

A thank you gift is a token of appreciation offered to donors who make a qualifying contribution in support of our mission. These gifts are provided as a way to thank you for your generosity and may include items such as DVDs, books, mug, or other special offers. Thank you gifts are optional and are available only while supplies last. Your donation supports our programming and services, and any gift received is simply our way of saying thank you.

How do I know which thank you gifts are available and what the qualifying contribution is?

To view the thank you gifts currently being offered and the contribution amount required for each gift, visit our Donate Page. On the donation form, click the "Yes, please show me the list" button to see all available thank you gifts and their qualifying contribution amounts. Available gifts may change throughout the year and are offered while supplies last.

When will I receive my thank you gift?

On average, your thank you gift will arrive in 4 - 6 weeks. Some items may arrive sooner; however, national demand for an item may slow down our distributors and cause delays. If it has been longer than 8 - 12 weeks, and you have not received your thank you gift, contact our Member Service Representative at friends@lpb.org or call 225.767.4214 for the status of your item.

Is there a shipping fee?

Yes, there is a $7 shipping and handling fee.

What is Friends of LPB's refund policy?

Due to the cost of the purchase of thank you gifts and the cost of credit card transactions Friends of LPB has a no refund policy. Tickets are also non-refundable and non-transferable.

What do I do if I receive the wrong gift or a damaged thank-you gift?

If you open your gift and discover that it is the wrong item or is damaged, just re-pack it and mark the package "Return to Sender." Contact our Member Services Representative at friends@lpb.org or call 225.767.4214 to receive a replacement.

Why are the thank you gifts Friends of LPB offers during pledge drives so expensive? Why can't I buy these items at a regular retail price?

As a public television station, LPB relies on community support for a great deal of our funding. The videos, DVDs, CDs, books, or other items we offer during our on-air fundraising campaigns are intended as a "thank you" gift for supporting the station with a donation, not as a retail transaction. To encourage viewers to become members of the station, we suggest various pledge levels and offer the individual items or packages as incentives to contribute at that level. These items allow us to give members something tangible for their donation in support of our programming.
