The competition heats up and Lafayette's Coby Bailey is bringing the Cajun heat!

In the first round, the eight home cooks will prepare a dish that shows support for someone in need. In the second round, it's holiday time! The cooks are asked to create their favorite holiday recipes for the judges.

Single mum Rachel is on the poverty line, leaving her working all hours of the day as a cleaner to provide for her son. Out of the blue, she is approached by a wealthy businessman offering her a new job with better pay and shorter hours. However, after accepting she gets drawn further into his life and begins to question his motives.

MAKE SUMMER SUPER WITH SCIENCE

Thank you to everyone who signed up for the LPB Super Science Summer event held at the LPB Studios! Attendees explored chemistry by learning about hydrophilic and hydrophobic properties of substances with the help of shaving cream and paint! They also got hands-on experience with beginning coding and robotics. This couldn't have happened without the help of the team from the Capital Area STEM Network, who lead both activities! Students also watched an episode of the digital science series CHIP KIDS, and took home science kits full of materials to conduct four CHIP KIDS experiments at home.
