Good Gumbo

Inspired by “No Passport Required,” “Good Gumbo” is a stylized visual exploration of historical and cultural roots of some of the most popular dishes in the Deep South. Hosted by acclaimed Louisiana chef Philip Lopez and produced by Louisiana Public Broadcasting (LPB).

A powerful new documentary that traces the unique traditions and rich culture of waterfowl hunting in Louisiana’s Sportsman’s Paradise and explores the sport’s relevance in a global conservation effort to preserve and restore waterfowl populations, migratory flyways and fragile habitat of this imperiled region. 

Louisiana Public Square is LPB’s monthly public affairs program. It provides citizens a forum to voice their opinions and concerns about issues affecting Louisiana to leading experts and key decision makers. 

Louisiana: The State We’re In, Louisiana's only statewide news magazine and one of the longest running television programs in the nation, is in its 43rd season on the air.

The Community Foundation of North Louisiana (CFNLA) joins LPB as an underwriter in support of LPB's Night of Hope & Healing which features two award winning documentaries: Broken Places and Resilience: The Biology of Stress & The Science of Hope, which focus on childhood trauma and its lasting implications. In 2019, CFNLA screened Resilience as part of an effort to address the childhood mental health crisis identified by a consortium of local pediatricians in Shreveport. According to CFNLA CEO Kristine Gustavson, "With the current COVID-19 health crisis in Louisiana, CFNLA thought audiences across the state could benefit from learning that children and adults can overcome trauma suffered at a young age."
