Melanie Bronfin, J.D.

La. Policy Institute for Children

Ms. Bronfin is the Executive Director of the Louisiana Policy Institute for Children, which is a non-partisan, nonprofit that is a source of data, research and information for policy makers, stakeholders and the public at large on issues related to young children in Louisiana. Ms. Bronfin has been involved in early childhood policy in Louisiana for the past 15 years. Since 2012, Ms. Bronfin has been at the forefront of policy and advocacy around the implementation of the Early Childhood Education Act, Act 3 of the 2012 Legislative Session, which mandated an overhaul of the entire early care and education system in Louisiana. Ms. Bronfin is a lifelong resident of Louisiana. She received her BA from Yale University and her J.D. from Tulane University School of Law. Her husband, Daniel Bronfin M.D., is a pediatrician at Ochsner Health System, and they have two adult sons.
