LPB premieres a new digital shorts series, LOUISIANA’S HIDDEN HISTORY. This 4-part digital first mini-series seeks to reveal little-known facts about history that may not be completely accurate or fully revealed. We help to identify and reveal these surprising findings all the while educating and entertaining!

Uncovering Your Hidden History: Genealogy In the Digital Age
On March 28, 2023, LPB hosted an event at the Lafayette Public Library.
UNCOVERING YOUR HIDDEN HISTORY: GENEALOGY IN THE DIGITAL AGE highlighted free library resources that members of the public can use to discover their own “hidden histories.”
LPB also presented excerpts from the Stanley Nelson film Harriet Tubman: Visions of Freedom, a documentary that uncovers some of the hidden history about this pivotal figure in American history.

Born 200 years ago in Maryland, Harriet Tubman was a conductor of the Underground Railroad, a Civil War scout, nurse and spy, and one of the greatest freedom fighters in our nation’s history.
