Ridley
Sunday @ 7:00pm
Adrian Dunbar returns as Alex Ridley, a retired detective who can't stop helping his colleagues, especially his former mentee DI Carol Farman (Bronagh Waugh), whose department is understaffed, overworked, and needs his wisdom and experience. Between his adventures, he'll check in to the jazz club he's invested in, and most likely pop up on stage to sing a few old chestnuts, giving Dunbar a chance to remind those watching at home that he's a multi-talented star.
Moonflower Murders on Masterpiece
Sunday @ 8:00pm
We’re not sure whether we should be calling this a “series premiere” because it’s technically “Magpie Murders” season 2. Either way this series (based once again on Anthony Horowitz’s novel) picks back up with book editor turned amateur sleuth Susan Ryeland and world-famous fictional detective Atticus Pund. Ryeland has left publishing behind and is now living in Crete, but her idyll is disturbed by the shadow of a murder committed at a British country hotel eight years ago. Alan Conway visited the hotel and wrote a novel based on what happened there. Cecily Treherne, the young woman who helps run the hotel, read the book and believed the wrong man had been arrested. Now she has disappeared. Can Susan uncover the secret hidden in the book and find Cecily before it is too late?
Van Der Valk on Masterpiece
Sunday @ 9:00pm
Amsterdam isn't all bikes, boats and seriously steep stairs! Steely-eyed detective Piet Van der Valk sees the seedy side of the famed city in this police procedural that explores Amsterdam's cultural contrasts. Van der Valk and his team are back to investigate new crimes in the fourth season of this favorite. In addition, Van der Valk must deal with an unwelcome past romance as well as find a way to make one of his beloved team members confront their mortality.
