Walker Percy: A Documentary Film
Walker Percy: A Documentary Film follows Percy’s life from his youth in Alabama – where he was first confronted by his family’s history of depression – to his prolonged hospitalizations for tuberculosis, and his eventual success as a novelist. Interviewees discuss Walker’s thoughts on faith, philosophy, and literature. The film also looks at the influence of William Alexander Percy, and Walker’s life-long friendship with Civil War historian and novelist Shelby Foote.
