LPB is teaming up with the East Baton Rouge Parish Library to encourage book clubs and mystery fans alike to join us this September and October for a bit of cozy crime solving! The Marlow Murder Club by Robert Thorogood, is a lighthearted mystery. It features an amateur trio of female sleuths and a determined policewoman who set out to solve a murder in their quiet riverside town of Marlow. In 2023, the title was nominated for the Mystery Writers of America’s prestigious Edgar Awards, which honor the best in mystery fiction, non-fiction, television, film, and theater.

A book about murder in a small, picturesque English town you say? That’s got MASTERPIECE MYSTERY written all over it! Of course, they turned to the author himself to adapt the novel for PBS viewers – after all Thorogood is the guy who created another PBS favorite, Death in Paradise. Read the book in September then join us for a special sneak peek at the first episode of the new series before it premieres! We’ll talk about both and compare notes!
