Major Chuck McNeal

Louisiana State Police Gaming Enforcement Division

Major McNeal currently serves the Command Inspector for the Louisiana State Police Gaming Enforcement Division.

He began his career with the Louisiana State Police in 1995 as a patrol trooper at Troop A in Baton Rouge. In 2000, he transferred to Headquarters and was assigned to the Landbased Section of the Gaming Enforcement Division working on background investigations on individuals and corporations. In 2001, he was assigned to a team of five individuals to help the Department attain accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). After successfully helping the Department achieve accreditation, he went back to the Gaming Section. In 2005, he was promoted to Sergeant in the Gaming Enforcement Division’s Operation Section. He was responsible for many aspects of gaming regulation to include; internal control approvals, designation of gaming space, and chip/card/dice approvals.

In 2008, he was promoted to Lieutenant as Director of Louisiana State Analytical & Fusion Exchange (LA-SAFE). In. October 2013, he was promoted to Captain over the Fusion Center which includes the Analytical Support Unit and the Criminal Intelligence Unit. While assigned to LA-SAFE, Major McNeal was responsible in providing operational and criminal intelligence assistance to an array of recipients. These include all the investigative elements of the Louisiana State Police as well as, other requesting federal, state, local, and international law enforcement agencies.
