Greater Baton Rouge Business Report

Stephanie Riegel is a veteran print and broadcast journalist who, for the past three and a half years, has been editor of the Greater Baton Rouge Business Report, where her primarily responsibilities revolve around developing content both for the magazine and its twice-daily online Daily Report. Riegel has always loved research, reporting and writing so a career in journalism was almost second nature to her. She grew up in New Orleans, and attended LSU, where she received a bachelor’s degree in journalism in 1988. She also attended Tulane University, where she received a master’s degree in history and lived briefly in Washington DC, where she worked for political consultant Raymond Strother. Her career has taken her from print to broadcast—she was a reporter and occasional anchor at WWL-TV in New Orleans for 12 years—to freelance PR and back to print. She came to Baton Rouge with her family in 2005 with Hurricane Katrina and has since made Baton Rouge her new home. She is married to Greg Woolverton, also of New Orleans, who is a self-employed IT consultant specializing in electronic document management and migration. They have three children, twin daughters Allison and Madeleine—both freshmen at Tulane in New Orleans—and Michael, a freshman at Catholic High.
