Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities

Miranda Restovic is President and Executive Director of the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities, the Louisiana affiliate to the National Endowment for the Humanities. Restovic previously served as LEH Deputy Director, as well as Director of the LEH’s award-winning and nationally implemented PRIME TIME Family Reading Time program.

With a relentless focus on LEH’s mission to partner with communities, institutions and individuals to explore Louisiana's past, reflect on our present, and imagine our future, during Restovic’s leadership, the LEH has tripled in size and impact as an organization. Guided by the belief that literacy is foundational and access to the humanities is a public good, she has led the LEH through strategic expansion of humanities-based programming designed with and for Louisiana’s children, families and educators. She has directed federal initiatives including PRIME TIME’s 10th national expansion grant, as well as the first humanities-based Head Start program, funded by the Office of Head Start of the Administration for Children and Families, and forged important national and local partnerships such as those with the Smithsonian Institution, Blue Star Families, Louisiana Office of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, and Louisiana’s regional Arts Councils.

Restovic holds a Masters in Public Administration from the University of New Orleans and a B.A. in International Relations and Italian from Mount Holyoke College, where she was awarded the Robert P. Sibley Creative Writing Award.
