Rep. Joseph Orgeron

Joseph Orgeron is currently a Louisiana State Representative and the Co-Founder of 2nd Wind Marine, LLC. Born on the bayous of south Louisiana, he graduated high school during the 1980’s oil-downturn and opted to get an education in something OTHER than his family’s business of offshore oilfield service vessels. After earning his B.S. from Nicholls State and doctorate in Physics at University of Texas at Dallas, he worked for 8 years in New Jersey as a Commodity Scientist for M&M/Mars.

In 2001, he along with wife Angela & 3-daughters moved back to the bayou and into the family-owned vessel business. As Special Projects Manager, he focused on utilizing their offshore liftboat fleet outside of the normal oil & gas industry, such as specialty offshore construction, scientific coring jobs and the US offshore windfarm market. Going forward, he is working towards solving the supply chain & port logistics issues related to installations in the unique US marketplace and future maintenance of the offshore wind farms.

He was recently elected as Louisiana State Representative for District 54 representing the people along Bayou Lafourche from Highway-90 down to Port Fourchon and Grand Isle.
