Edward "Ted" James, II

Representative Baton Rouge District 101 (D)

Ted James was elected to serve as Louisiana State Representative for District 101 in November of 2011. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Southern University and is a cum laude graduate of the Southern University Law Center.

He currently sits on the Administration of Criminal Justice for the Louisiana House of Representatives and co-chairs Mayor President Broome’s Public Safety Committee. Ted is also a practicing attorney skilled at handling criminal defense cases. He was recently named as the Director of the Baton Rouge Office of Urban League Louisiana in a recent expansion of the Urban League of Greater New Orleans to a statewide operation. Ted is an active member of Beacon Light Baptist Church and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

His many awards and distinctions include Baton Rouge Business Report’s “Forty Under 40” award, recognition by the National Chapter of the NAACP as one of the “Top 40 Power Players under 40” in the country who have shown exemplary service in their field, and the National Bar Associations 2013 Nation's Best Advocates: 40 Lawyers Under 40. But his greatest distinction is that he is married to Veronica Moss James.
