Jamar Ennis

Louisiana Youth for Excellence

Jamar Ennis is the Executive Director of the Louisiana Youth For Excellence (LYFE) within the Office of Governor John Bel Edwards and the Governor’s Office of Community Programs.

LYFE is the Governor’s statewide positive youth development program that promotes leadership development, character building, and the awareness of the various consequences of at-risk behaviors, unplanned teen pregnancy, and sexual transmitted infections for Louisiana youth between the ages of 12-19. The LYFE program provides access to abstinence-centric resources to schools, faith-based, and community-based organizations, and parents.

Jamar has worked in public service for the State of Louisiana for more than twelve years, and has experience in HIV/AIDS prevention. He is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and has received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University and his Juris Doctorate from the Southern University Law Center.

He is engaged to Kimberly Barbee.
