Jeanne Abadie

The Advocacy Center

Jeanne Abadie works on the policy team at the Advocacy Center of Louisiana where she has been employed for over 15 years. The Advocacy Center of Louisiana protects, empowers and advocates for people with disabilities throughout Louisiana, and toward that end is very interested in a long-term services and supports system for Louisiana that allows for choice of where those services are received.

Over the past 20 years, Jeanne has participated in many work groups and committees that have created, modified and designed parts of Louisiana’s long-term supports and services system, including groups that designed the Community Choices Waiver and the New Opportunities Waiver. She also served on the Managed Long-Term Services and Supports Advisory Group, which provided the guidance to the Department of Health in designing the request for proposal that was developed to begin the implementation of a managed long-term supports and services system.

Prior to working for The Advocacy Center of Louisiana, Jeanne worked for an agency that provided a variety of home and community-based services, including services to older adults and people with adult on-set disabilities.
