LPB DEBUTS NEW SEASONS OF TWO LOUISIANA FAVORITES
(Louisiana Statewide – October 17, 2024) – Discover all-new seasons of LA VEILLÉE and BEHIND THE GLORY beginning Thursday, October 17th on Louisiana Public Broadcasting (LPB) and across LPB streaming platforms. Both short-form programs bring viewers Louisiana-focused content that’s easy to watch anytime, anywhere.
LA VEILLÉE (Thursdays at 7:45 PM) is a celebration of Louisiana’s French language and heritage. Presented in partnership with Télé-Louisiane, the program not only shares the unique stories of Louisiana’s French speaking community, it serves as a resource for French speakers and learners across the state. In the premiere episode, a look at the economic and cultural significance of alligator hunting. Episodes are presented in Louisiana French with English subtitles. BEHIND THE GLORY (Thursdays at 8:45) explores the stories that transcend the sport. Veteran journalist Lyn Rollins sits down with Louisiana sports greats and inductees into the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame to learn the stories behind the headlines and the stats. In the premiere episode, a visit with Baton Rouge basketball great Seimone Augustus. Look for interviews with jockey Ray Sibille, quarterback great Kerry Joseph, coaching legend Frank Monica, and sports journalist Ron Higgins.
