LPB CELEBRATES ARTS ROCKS NEW SEASON!
(Louisiana - Statewide) - Louisiana art, performance, culture, literature, landscape, and history are in the spotlight as the LPB series ART ROCKS!THE SERIES celebrates its 12th season this Friday, September 27. Each weekly half-hour episode includes a feature story about a Louisiana artist, as well as segments on the arts from other PBS stations from around the country. “Along with sharing stories with our audiences about all of the creative talent here in our own state, Art Rocks! is a unique programming concept that also allows Louisiana artists to receive nationwide exposure at other PBS stations around the country,” says LPB Director of Programming, Jason Viso. In the first episode of this new season, longtime producer of the series, Dorothy Kendrick, explores the wonderous sights in the private Lafayette gardens of Louisiana Master Gardener and rising social media superstar, May Vidacovich. In upcoming episodes, Kendrick will travel to all corners of the state to share with LPB viewers the stories of creators, visionaries, and curators who are bringing their unique perspectives to life.
Hosted by James Fox-Smith, publisher of Country Roads Magazine, Art Rocks! premieres each Friday at 8:30 PM and encores Saturday at 5:30 PM. You can also stream past seasons and episodes online any time at lpb.org/artrocks.
