Louisiana Public Broadcasting’s (LPB) award-winning statewide news magazine, Louisiana: The State We’re In, will begin airing on WYES-TV, the PBS station for New Orleans and the Gulf Coast, beginning Friday, February 5 at 7:30PM. LPB’s award-winning news program combines in-depth coverage about important issues that concern Louisiana with expert analysis. The program also features art, culture, and looks at the people and places that make our state so unique.

"WYES is pleased to be able to add to its strong Friday evening lineup of local and national Public Affairs programming with the addition of Louisiana Public Broadcasting’s weekly production of Louisiana: The State We’re In. This partnership between WYES, New Orleans’s PBS station, and LPB strengthens the informational service and production capabilities for both entities." says WYES President & CEO Allan Pizzato.

Louisiana: The State We’re In premiered in 1976, with current LPB President & CEO Beth Courtney anchoring and producing. Today, André Moreau serves as Managing Editor, with Kara St. Cyr co-anchoring and reporting. It is one of the longest-running television programs in the nation. Louisiana: The State We’re In airs Fridays at 7pm and Sundays at 4:30pm on LPB. WYES joins LPB’s sister station, WLAE-TV32, in airing the news program in the New Orleans area.

“We’re excited to bring this invaluable resource and award winning program to even more Louisianans. LPB is happy to provide Louisiana: The State We’re In to WYES so that even more viewers in New Orleans can benefit from the statewide information that has proven so valuable for more than 40 years.” says LPB President & CEO Beth Courtney.
