Louisiana native Ben Johnson is the latest addition to the team at Louisiana Public Broadcasting (LPB) as Senior Producer. Johnson joins LPB’s production team bringing over 10-years of experience as a videographer, producer, editor and composer. In his new role at LPB, Johnson will produce the award-winning monthly news and public affairs program, Louisiana Public Square as well as contribute to Louisiana: The State We’re In and documentaries.

“I’ve spent my entire professional career in Louisiana, capturing the states’ unique and complex stories through film. There is no shortage of great stories in our state, but there is a lack of outlets to tell them. That’s why I’m honored to be a part of LPB where I can continue to showcase the rich history, unique characters, and complex current issues across Louisiana,” Johnson says.

While working in the commercial and entertainment fields, Johnson worked on HBO’s Treme and created fast-paced digital content for the New Orleans Saints and Pelicans. He also brings experience in the world of documentary filmmaking. He served as producer and composer on Big Charity: Death of America’s Oldest Hospital – named “Documentary of the Year” in 2015 by the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities as well as winner of the “Best Louisiana Feature” and “Audience Award” at the 2014 New Orleans Film Festival.
