A "LOUISIANA: THE STATE WE'RE IN" SPECIAL FOCUS - PARADISE IN PERIL: GRAND ISLE

PARADISE IN PERIL: GRAND ISLE
A Louisiana: The State We're In Special Focus
Friday 7:00PM

It's been months since Hurricane Ida slammed into the Louisiana coast...but it looks like it happened just yesterday around some parts of Grand Isle. LPB's André Moreau takes you to Louisiana's last inhabited barrier island in this LOUISIANA: THE STATE WE'RE IN SPECIAL FOCUSYou'll see where things stand...and how far there still is to go.

Through interviews with life-long residents and those in charge of the storm's aftermath, LPB explores not only WHY Grand Isle is worth rebuilding...but WHY it's ESSENTIAL. "It's my belief that if they don't take care of Grand Isle and the rest of the barrier islands...then in the city of New Orleans, you'll be able to fish off of your back porch," says Richard Augustin.

CELTIC WOMAN: POSTCARDS FROM IRELAND
Sunday 8:00PM
Take an auditory and visual tour around the Emerald Isle with Celtic Woman in this all new special.

Featuring songs from their latest album as well as favorites and filmed in 14 different locations around the island, this is a departure from the concert films you are used to seeing from Celtic Woman.

The journey begins in Ireland’s Ancient East with a return visit to Johnstown Castle in County Wexford, where the group delivers a spine-tingling performance of the ever-popular “Amazing Grace.”  Then on to the monastic site at Glendalough in County Wicklow for Megan’s performance of “Bonny Portmore.” Next up are the spectacular seascapes and cliffs in County Antrim where the group performs a brand new rendition of “The Dawning of the Day.” They then move on to a reconstructed early 20th-century Irish village in County Tyrone to perform “Beeswing,” a beautiful folk song. Then on to “The Wild Atlantic Way,” stopping off at Lissadell House in County Sligo, the holiday home of renowned Irish poet W.B. Yeats to hear Muirgen sing “Down By the Salley Gardens.” At Kylemore Abbey in Connemara, County Galway, Chloe delivers a stunning rendition of “Angel.”  In County Kerry, Tara performs the magnificent Bach violin solo “Where Sheep May Safely Graze” in the medieval monastic ruins of Muckross Abbey. In the Chapel at Trinity College in Dublin, Susan offers a powerful rendition of “May It Be.”

WHAT TO WATCH - AND WHEN

“Kill the Indian in him, and save the man.” This was the guiding principle that removed thousands of Native American children and placed them in Indian boarding schools. Among the many who died at Carlisle Indian Industrial School were three Northern Arapaho boys. Now, more than a century later, tribal members journey from Wyoming to Pennsylvania to help them finally come home. INDEPENDENT LENS: Home From School - The Children of Carlisle Tuesday 8:00PM
