HONORING THE PEOPLE DOING GREAT THINGS FOR THE CHILDREN OF LOUISIANA

THE ANGEL AWARD
Monday 8:00PM
Everyday Louisianans doing extraordinary things for our state’s children; that’s what The Angel Award is all about. Once again, LPB is pleased to team up with the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana Foundation to present those awards to nine honorees in a one-hour special broadcast.

The program will feature segments on each honoree that tells the story of their work, their lives and the children for whom they have made a difference.  This year’s honorees are; Miguel Alonso of New Orleans, Marc Behar of New Orleans, Ken Brown of Lake Charles, Rylie Duos of Benton, Stephanie Herrmann of Farmerville, James “Big Brown” Joseph of Baton Rouge, Lucas Spielfogel of Baton Rouge, and Erin Wheeler of New Orleans.

Each year, the Foundation also honors a “Blue Angel,” an employee of BCBSLA who has shown extraordinary commitment to children. This year, the Foundation has selected Kellie DeRouen Duhon of Crowley, a long-time volunteer serving The Life of a Single Mom, which improves the lives of children by providing education, counseling, and support to single mothers.

The Angel Award will also livestream at www.lpb.org/livetv, through the LPB App, and on both the Foundation’s Facebook page and the LPB Facebook page.

A NIGHT OF FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

A CHARLIE BROWN THANKSGIVING
Sunday 6:30PM

What makes Thanksgiving special to you? For some people it's turkey. For others, it's pumpkin pie. In this traditional holiday program with Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang, we find that Thanksgiving traditions are in the eye of the beholder. Whether it’s a turkey leg or a handful of jelly beans, it’s the people around the table that count in A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. Thanks to our friends with the East Baton Rouge Parish Library for helping make this happen.

Viewer Note: LPB is thrilled to bring you A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving on broadcast and YouTubeTV. It will not be available for streaming at lpb.org or with the LPB/PBS Apps or for on demand viewing.
