www.lpb.org/filmfest

What would you do if you only had 15 minutes left on Earth to live? That’s the thought-provoking subject of the LPB nominated entry, Story of Your Life, in the PBS Short Film Festival 2021. This popular online film festival returns for its tenth year, running July 12-23, featuring 25 short-form films from independent producers.

This is the ninth straight year an LPB submitted film has been accepted into the national festival.  Story of Your Life comes from independent filmmaker Kelly Yu, a Swedish-born, New Orleans raised, Chinese-American filmmaker and photographer.

Yu is currently studying Film & Television Production at the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts.

“Each year we put out a call to Louisiana independent filmmakers to submit their work and we receive a tremendous response,” said Jason Viso, LPB’s Director of Programming. “Kelly’s short film was a very timely and moving production. We were thrilled to submit her film to this festival. Louisiana’s film community has a wonderful amount of talent and creativity.”

Beginning July 12, the Festival will be accesible via lpb.org/filmfest and PBS digital platforms including PBS.org.
