GERMANY IN FOUR YEARS: FROM DEMOCRACY TO DICTATORSHIP

THE RISE OF THE NAZIS
3-Part Series
Tuesday 8pm

RISE OF THE NAZIS is a particularly poignant look at the fragility of democracy and the institutions that are intended to protect it, examining the individuals and establishments that quickly collapsed as Hitler and his allies further consolidated their power.

The first episode takes us into the corridors of power, where the rising firebrand Adolf Hitler sees an opportunity to use the political turmoil of a hung parliament for his own ends. This sets off a chain of miscalculations by opponents, backroom deals and power grabs that send Hitler from the fringes of politics into the heart of government. Parts 2 & 3 air Tuesday's at 8pm.

This interactive combines a compelling graphic interface with facts, lessons and video clips from the film.

Grades 6-8: Trail of Tears: The Cherokee Fight Against Removal -In this interactive lesson supporting literacy skills, students are introduced to the Cherokees' struggle to remain on their land in the early 1800s. CALLING YOUNG ASIAN AMERICAN FILMMAKERS

THE SAUCE - FILMMAKER FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITY
For more information, visit: novacvideo.org

NOVAC, in partnership with LPB and CAAM, the Center for Asian American Media, is thrilled to announce that we are launching an innovative filmmaker fellowship. The fellowship aims to engage emerging (ages 18-24) Asian American filmmakers in the American South with resources and mentorship to develop documentary short content.

If you are ages 18-24, identify as Asian or Asian American, and live in the American South and have an interest in visual storytelling, you may qualify. Chosen applicants will learn the basics of documentary filmmaking in a 9 month fellowship program, where they will receive resources, networking opportunities, workshops, mentorship and connection to the distribution platforms of public media. We are looking for innovative thinkers and storytellers, not necessarily people with prior experience in documentary filmmaking from school or work. Although that's cool too!
