The series features intimate, one-on-one conversations starting with acclaimed public interest lawyer Bryan Stevenson, who addresses how the truth can lead to racial reconciliation.

"What I most look forward to exploring in 'Tell Me More' is the deep, undeniable connection we share with one another, which is not always as apparent and palpable as it could be," said Kelly Corrigan.  "With more empathy and less judgement, we're bound to be better versions of ourselves, individually and collectively."

CLASSIC ALBUMS: JOHN LENNON - PLASTIC ONO BAND
Friday 8pm

On what would have been his 80th birthday, LPB presents two programs that take a deeper look at the artist during his post-Beatles days. Classic Albums: John Lennon - Plastic Ono Band takes a closer look at the making of what is widely regarded as his finest album. Described as fierce, raw, emotionally painful yet beautiful, it is a collection of some of the most personal and cathartic songs he ever wrote. The documentary features interviews with Yoko Ono, Ringo Starr, bassist Klaus Voormann and others, along with archival footage and recorded interviews.

CELEBRATE HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH WITH THESE LPB PROGRAMS

THE HISPANIC HERITAGE AWARDS 2020
Tuesday 7pm

LPB continues a special lineup of new programs in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. The highlight for many will be the broadcast of the 33rd Annual Hispanic Heritage Awards. The program is among the highest honors by Latinos for Latinos. This year's program features more intimately filmed performances and honoree segments in light of current COVID-19 safety precautions.

COVID-19 features prominently in this year's ceremony as the organization decided to honor the 2-to-3 million farmworkers (deemed essential workers during COVID-19) with the Heroes Award. Advocates have raised many concerns about the threat to farmworker health, given their current working and living conditions, all while continuing to work on behalf of American families and businesses. Says Antonio Tijerino, President, and CEO of the Hispanic Heritage Foundation: “Every single time we take a bite of food, we should think about the importance of our farmworkers in our lives, especially during the COVID-19 crisis as they put themselves and their families at risk to nobly nourish our families.  Their service is nothing short of heroic.”

Hosted by Sebastian Yatra, expect to see Selena Gomez receive the ARTS Award, Jessica Alba receive the Business Award and Linda Ronstadt receive the Legend Award. The activism of John Lewis will also be recognized with a special tribute performance.

FOR PARENTS & TEACHERS - LPB'S TOP 5 EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES

Grades K-2: Hero Maker | Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum - Introducing, Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum's Hero Maker! In this game, kids learn how everyday people can do amazing things. To get started, students choose from a wall of historical figures to learn more about them or create their own!

Grades 3-5: Your Vote Counts! - This patriotic adventure will take you through the importance of voting. Even as a kid you get to make decisions. As adults you will be making hundreds of decisions big and small every day. It's never too early to learn about the importance of voting.

Grades 6-8: PBS Electoral Decoder - Use this cartogram to explore all 58 past presidential elections from 1789-2016. Learn about the significance of the Electoral College by comparing the map and the electoral cartogram. Delve further into history by reading a brief overview and looking at key events for every past election. Then, use the "Presidential Predictor" to try and decide the outcome of the next election. Who will win? Who will lose? How would you strategize a political campaign to win the presidency?

Grades 9-12:Election Basics | Crash Course Government and Politics - There are a lot of people in the U.S, and holding individual issues up to a public vote doesn't seem particularly plausible. To deal with this complexity, we vote for people, not policies, that represent our best interests. But as you'll see, this process was not thoroughly addressed in the Constitution, so there have been a number of amendments and laws at the state level implemented to create the election system we all know and (maybe) love today.

Teachers:  LPB | Edcamp Statewide Partnership Empowering Educators Statewide -Edcamps are free to attendees, ensuring that all local educators have access to them.
