Families come in all shapes and sizes and this latest addition to the PBS American Portrait docu-series reveals just how important family is right now. A moving and meaningful picture of families in America today told to PBS by people just like you.

PBS American Portrait is an ongoing, evolving initiative that asks you, and people all across the country, to submit your individual stories. They could be woven into the next episode of the American Portrait docu-series. It's easy to do: just go to www.lpb.org/americanportrait to get started. 

The website offers some thought-provoking questions and prompts. All you have to do is fill in the blank. It’s a simple way to provide people with a glimpse into your own life and to share your perspective as PBS explores what it means to be American today.

From personal responsibility to personal risk – people across Louisiana are sharing their story with the rest of the country through the PBS American Portrait national storytelling project. The simple to use map feature at www.pbs.org/americanportrait makes it easy to see stories uploaded by state. Browse through the videos uploaded from people in Louisiana or switch to another state to watch their videos or read their submissions.

LPB KEEPS YOU INFORMED WITH NEWSMAKERS & PRESS CLUB

Newsmakers is a weekly program presenting news and speakers from the capitol city region. During the COVID-19 health crisis, LPB will be archiving most of Governor Joh Bel Edwards' press updates as part of this important series. You can watch them on LPB's YouTube channel

PRESS CLUB is a weekly program highlighting the meetings of the Baton Rouge Press Club. Those meetings have been put on hold as part of the governor's "stay at home" order. LPB's coverage will return as soon as that order has been lifted. In the meantime, you can watch archived PRESS CLUB at lpb.org or on LPB's YouTube channel

LOUISIANA LEGENDS AWARDS GALA & AUCTION RESCHEDULED

Tickets are available for the upcoming Friends of LPB, 2020 Louisiana Legends Awards Gala & Auction. The annual event honors the best and brightest of Louisiana's sons and daughters who have distinguished themselves in a variety of disciplines and brought honor to the state. The event was previously scheduled for March, but was postponed due to the pandemic. The gala has been rescheduled for Thursday, October 22.
