LIFE OF A LOUISIANA LEGEND

Local stories - Louisiana history. It's what LPB does best and it's what you'll get in this inspiring documentary about the life of Leah Chase.

LEAH CHASE - THE QUEEN OF CREOLE CUISINE tells the humble beginnings of a young girl from Madisonville, Louisiana and details how she became one of the top, multi-award winning chefs in the country. You'll hear the story of how Edgar "Dooky" Chase, Jr. and Leah Chase worked together tirelessly as they turned a family sandwich shop in NOLA's Treme neighborhood into a famous, fine dining restaurant called Dooky Chase.

Using archival photos and interviews, you'll be inspired by how Leah Chase managed to cook for presidents and celebrities and more importantly, how she helped shape the political and civil rights movement in New Orleans.

WATCH "LEAH CHASE - THE QUEEN OF CREOLE CUISINE" WEDNESDAY, DEC. 4 @ 7PM ON LPB-HD.
