LIBRARY SCREENINGS

Starting September 10, LPB, in partnership with several area public libraries, scheduled a number of preview screenings of The War: A Ken Burns Film followed by discussion periods in which veterans of WWII and their families shared their WWII stories.

September 10, 2007 - Ouachita Parish Library - 6:30-8:30 pm

September 12, 2007 - Terrebonne Parish Library - 2-4 pm

September 19, 2007 - East Baton Rouge Parish Library –Bluebonnet Branch - 2-4 pm

September 20, 2007 - Calcasieu Parish Library - 2-4 pm

LIVE INTERVIEWS
(Make an appointment with us. )

EVERY THURSDAY, LPB will be recording veteran’s World War II stories in the studios at 7733 Perkins Road in Baton Rouge every Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Veterans will have 30-45 minutes to share their story. You will be given a DVD copy of your interview . To take part in this project, you need to make an appointment by calling 767-4214 or 1-800-272-8161, ext, 4214. Started August 23, 2007.

On September 10-12, LPB recorded video histories in the Shreveport-Bossier City area at the Eighth Air Force Museum at Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City.

Louisiana's Experience-WWII Part Three (30 minutes)
This 30 minute show consists of War Stories with first hand accounts of Louisiana WWII vets
including General Ansel Stroud, Allen Barham, Frank Walk, Louisiana veterans who fought at Iwo Jima
and historian Stephen Ambrose.

Louisiana World War Two Stories (60 minutes)
