On this Fourth of July weekend, Charlie Whinham continues his trek around the Louisiana State Parks. This week, Charlie explores northwest Louisiana and Lake Bistineau State Park. We also pay tribute to the military this weekend and introduce you to a Denham Springs man who is part of the “Old Guard” that watches over the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Plus, we will showcase two more LPB Young Heroes: Carter Boyd of Shreveport and Carl Harrison from New Orleans.

INAUGURATION 2008 - Louisiana Public Broadcasting provided live coverage of the inauguration of Governor Bobby Jindal on Monday, January 14. Louisiana: The State We're In Managing Editor Robyn Ekings, Producer Charlie Whinham and LPB President/CEO Beth Courtney anchored the coverage from the State Capitol in Downtown Baton Rouge. In addition to the Governor, the other statewide elected officials and the Legislature were sworn in at the event.
