Decision 2004: The Louisiana US Senate Race

Louisiana Public Broadcasting and the Council for a Better Louisiana once again team up to host a series of debates in the United States Senate race. The debates will air live on the six-station LPB network.

The forum will feature the major candidates in the race to replace retiring Senator John Breaux. The contenders include Democratic Congressman Chris John and Republican Congressman David Vitter, State Treasurer John Kennedy and State Representative Arthur Morrell. The forum will be held at Angelle Hall on the campus of the University of Louisiana Lafayette.

“We are pleased that LPB could continue its long-standing tradition of providing candidate forums in Louisiana’s statewide elections,” LPB President/CEO Beth Courtney said.

“We feel that these forums are an excellent way to provide information to the electorate about the candidates,” CABL President Barry Erwin said. “Our partnership with LPB has allowed us to provide these debates as a public service for more than a decade and we plan on continuing these forums in the future. “
