Fruit Salad with Fruit Salad Dressing
 
Ingredients:

Golden Delicious apples, chopped or diced
oranges, peeled and chopped
bananas, sliced
16 ounce can fruit cocktail, undrained
16 ounce can peaches, undrained and chopped
16 ounce can pears, undrained and chopped
10 ounce jar maraschino cherries, undrained
cup sugar or 2 packages Nutrasweet

Directions:
Mix all ingredients together. Refrigerate for several hours or overnight before serving. Serves 6 to 8.

Fruit Salad Dressing Ingredients:

cup syrup from canned peaches
tablespoon sugar or to taste
egg yolks, well beaten
teaspoon salt
teaspoon paprika
teaspoons lemon juice

Directions:
Heat peach syrup in a saucepan over medium heat. Combine sugar, egg yolks, salt and paprika in a bowl. Slowly add peach syrup, stirring constantly. Return to saucepan and cook over low heat until thick and smooth. Remove from heat and slowly add lemon juice. Mix thoroughly and chill. Sweeten with extra sugar as desired. Serve with all fruit salads. Other fruit juices may be substituted for the peach syrup.
