About Gus Weill |
Gus Weill, host of Louisiana
Legends, was born in 1933 in Lafayette, Louisiana. He is owner and
CEO of Baton Rouge's oldest advertising/public relations firm,
established in 1958. He also co-hosts a weekly radio show. From 1964 to
1968 he served as Executive Secretary to Governor John J. McKeithen. Mr.
Weill is considered the father of modern political public relations in
Louisiana, and he has handled political campagins for four of Louisiana's
past six governors. James Carville is one of his many proteges. An
accomplished writer, Weill spent two years working for the famous
American producer Otto Preminger. He is a 1955 graduate of Louisiana
State University.
