KEDM, WRKF and Red River Radio all ran the inauguration coverage starting at 11:30. KRVS in Lafayette aired our complete coverage starting at 11AM.
LPB President/CEO Beth Courtney and Louisiana: The State We’re In Managing Editor Robyn Ekings anchored LPB’s coverage from the Capitol which started at 11:00 a.m. Political analyst Elliot Stonecipher also provided expert commentary for the event. The actual swearing in took place at noon.
The 36-year old Jindal is the second youngest governor in Louisiana history and the first Indian-American governor in the nation. The Republican was in his third term in Congress when he won the governor’s election in the first primary in October. He succeeds one-term Democratic Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco.
