Louisiana Public Broadcasting [LPB] is partnering with Mississippi Public Broadcasting [MPB], to produce “Coastal Comeback: Louisiana & Mississippi After Katrina,” which is underwritten by a Local Service Initiative Grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting [CPB]. This special edition of Louisiana Pubic Square will explore the state of recovery by recording town hall meetings in Bay St. Louis and New Orleans. The final one hour program will be edited together to provide a unique perspective on three important areas: housing, the economy and the governmental response following the storm. The audience will consist of citizens recruited at random, invited members of local neighborhood associations, church groups and other non-governmental organizations and special guests representing local culture. A panel of experts will answer questions from the audience. LPB President Beth Courtney and LSU Professor Craig Freeman will host the program, which airs August 20 on the state-wide television networks of LPB and MPB. Louisiana Panelists:
