Rockefeller State Wildlife Scholarship:
This program competitively awards scholarships to high school graduates, college undergraduate
and graduate students majoring in forestry, wildlife or marine science. Recipients must attain a
degree in one of the three eligible fields at a Louisiana public college/university or repay the
funds, plus interest.
Louisiana Honors Scholarship:
This program awards tuition to Louisiana's top high school graduates to acknowledge, honor and
reward their academic achievement, to ensure that they have the financial resources to pursue
higher education at a Louisiana college/university and to provide an incentive for them to seek
their education in Louisiana.
Louisiana Tuition Assistance Plan(TAP):
This program awards tuition to Louisiana residents who attend public colleges/universities and
meet specific academic standards and financial need criteria. The annual award varies since it is
based on the amount of tuition and mandatory fees charged by individual state institutions and the funds available. There is no established cumulative maximum award amount; however, you may
only receive this award for five years. Effective July 1, 1998, this program is being replaced by the Opportunity Award of the TOPS Program.
Louisiana State Student Incentive Grant (SSIG):
This program uses federal and state funds to provide need-based grants to academically qualified
students. LOSFA allocates funds to postsecondary institutions, which include Louisiana
colleges/universities, technical institutes and proprietary schools, based upon the school's prior fall enrollment.
Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship Program:
This program promotes student excellence and achievement and recognizes exceptional students who show promise of continued excellence. For more information, contact the Louisiana Department of Education at (504) 342-2098.
