Results suggest that there was some moderation of views on several controversial questions.

On the question of intervening against other countries without help from allies, the number of those who either strongly agreed or strongly disagreed went down significantly. Even though views moderated on this issue, the majority still agreed with the statement.

A similar question focused on support for invasion of other countries, even when we are not completely sure of the threat they pose to the US . The number of participants who strongly held that position dropped by nearly two thirds.

Despite these findings, more people felt that the war in Iraq had gotten in the way of the war on terror. Before the Deliberation Day forum, 43 percent agreed or strongly agreed with that position. After the forum, 53 percent thought the war had gotten in the way.
