After you have your turkey dinner on Thanksgiving, relax and watch LPB! At 7PM, see Anne of Green Gables: The Good Stars (with an encore Saturday at 5PM.) At 9PM, Johnny Mathis performs some of his beloved favorites in Wonderful, Wonderful.

Then, while you relax after your Black Friday shopping, enjoy Great Performances’ presentation of Irving Berlin’s ‘Holiday Inn’ – The Broadway Musical at 8PM. Next, hear more Broadway numbers in Josh Groban: Stages Live at 10:30.

Saturday, November 25, the 2016 adaptation of Anne of Green Gables starts at 3PM, followed by Anne of Green Gables: The Good Stars at 5PM. Then, you won’t want to miss the premiere of Ron Howard’s The Beatles: Eight Days a Week – The Touring Years at 7PM (encore Wednesday, November 29 at 9PM). At 9:30PM, great music continues with Moody Blues: Days of Future Passed on Great Performances at 9:30PM. The historic group will perform the entire album.

See the man behind some of the most popular songs of our generation on Hitman: David Foster & Friends, another fantastic offering from Great Performances on Sunday, November 26 at 7PM (encore Thursday, November 30 at 9PM). That’s followed by Australia’s Human Nature: Jukebox at 9PM.

History meets fantasy as Antiques Roadshow: Mansion Masterpieces kicks off the week on Monday, November 27 at 7PM, followed by a profile on one of America’s most beloved funnymen, American Masters presents This is Bob Hope at 8:30PM. At 10:30PM, see how many documentaries and short series Ken Burns has produced on Ken Burns: American Storyteller.

Tuesday, November 28 at 7PM, hear from Louisianans who share their memories of the conflict in The Vietnam War: Louisiana Stories. That’s followed at 8PM by the finale of The Vietnam War by Ken Burns & Lynn Novick.

Time travel back to The 80s in a new My Music special hosted by MTV “VJ” Martha Quinn Wednesday, November 29 at 7PM. Then Thursday November 30 at 7PM, hear the ladies with the angelic voices in Celtic Woman – Homecoming: Ireland (encore Sunday, December 3 at 6PM). Don’t go to bed early because at 11PM, soar above the wonders of Britain, France, Germany, Italy, and Greece in Visions of Europe.

December starts with great music. See 60s Pop, Rock, and Soul Friday, December 1 at 7PM with classics from the decade of peace, love, and profound social change sung by performers including: Paul Revere & The Raiders, Gary Lewis & The Playboys, The Kingsmen, Jefferson Starship, and more (encore Sunday at 5PM).

Get in the holiday spirit with more great music on Saturday, December 2 at 6PM with Christmas with Daniel O’Donnell. Then at 8PM, see a tribute to a celebrated musician and comedian in Victor Borge: 100 Years of Music & Laughter. See a preview of the highly anticipated Season 2 of Victoria on Victoria Returns at 8PM and 11PM.

LPB pays tribute to the late Louisiana music icon and native son in Fats Domino: Walkin’ Back to New Orleans on Monday, December 4 at 7PM. At 8:30, watch guitar virtuoso Joe Bonamassa perform Muddy Wolf at Red Rocks, and find out how you can score tickets to one of his upcoming shows in Louisiana.

Singer-songwriter Zachary Richard joins us in studio on Tuesday, December 5 with two back-to-back shows. First at 7PM, Christmas at the Mansion is a holiday celebration hosted by Governor John Bel and First Lady Donna Edwards featuring the artistry of Zachary Richard, who performs with the Myrtle Place French Immersion Children’s Choir, with accompaniment on piano and accordion by David Torkanowsky. Then at 8:30, see another LPB collaboration with Zachary Richard in what has become a new LPB classic, Attakapas: The Cajun Story. This will be the first airing of the national cut of the multi-media stage show that chronicles the epic journey of the Acadian people from Nova Scotia to Louisiana and that will be seen on PBS across the country in 2018.

On Wednesday, December 6, John Folse will be in LPB’s studios to present Leah Chase: The Queen of Creole Cuisine at 7PM.

Join Pink Floyd singer-guitarist at the top of his game in David Gilmour: Live at Pompeii Friday, December 8 at 8PM, followed by 70s Soul Superstars at 9:30.

Winterfest 2017 continues with even more great programming through Sunday, December 10 and is the perfect time to renew your membership in Friends of LPB while enjoying great programs for the whole family.
