Impact the Racial Narrative!
The East Baton Rouge Parish Library, along with Louisiana Public Broadcasting (LPB) will host a free documentary screening of I Am Not Your Negro, for adults in the Large Meeting Room of the Main Library at Goodwood, 7711 Goodwood Blvd., at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, January 14th. Stay after the film to participate in lively discussion led by several panelists.

About the Film:
The AcademyAward-nominated film I Am Not Your Negro is based on James Baldwin's unfinished manuscript Remember This House. Directed by Raoul Peck and narrated by actor Samuel L. Jackson, it explores the history of racism in the UnitedStates through Baldwin's reminiscences of civilrights leaders Medgar Evers, Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr., as well as his personal observations of American history.

For more information about this free documentary screening and panel discussion, call (225) 231-3750. To learn more about the Library and any of its other free programs, events and resources, go online to www.ebrpl.com.
