PBS Kids is 24/7!

PBS Kids is now available 24/7 on LPB 2 (27.2) and through cable providers across the state.   LPB is broadcasting PBS KIDS shows 24 hours a day and offering a digital livestream, making it easy for children to watch their favorite series during primetime and other after-school hours.  The live stream of the 24/7 program is available through lpb.org and on the PBS Kids Video App for a variety of mobile devices and tablets.  

 

Embracing Black History

This month and beyond, spend time with your child celebrating the countless contributions of African Americans. We offer ideas for connecting kids with black history, celebrating black history all year long, and finding your family’s roots.

Rather than trying to quiet your child, take these opportunities to help your child understand and respect differences and similarities among those in your community. Using paper plates or plastic jugs your children can make Mardi Gras masks for their own celebrations. Check out some fun masks your children can make.

 

Just For Kids: DINSOAUR TRAIN: What’s at the Center of the Earth?

In this one-hour special, premiering February 20<sup>th</sup> at 10 a.m., the Conductor has a special surprise for our favorite Pteranodon Family, the Dinosaur Drill Train! This amazing machine gives its passengers a front row seat as they dig deep underground for an once-in-a-lifetime adventure below the Earth’s surface. There they discover a whole new world from fossils and troglobites to rivers of lava. Check local listings.

·       Victoria

The eight-part drama, Victoria, began on January 15<sup>th </sup>at 8 p.m.  Missed episodes are available for a limited time at http://www.pbs.org/video/.   The series follows Victoria’s 63 year reign, her passionate marriage, birth of nine children, and the challenge of being the Queen of United Kingdom and Ireland and the Empress of India.  Beautiful locations and costumes add to the enjoyment.
