What's not to love about spring? The sun brightens our days a little bit longer. Kids get to explore outside a little longer, too. As we appreciate the beauty that the natural world offers us, it's only fair that we return the favor. How? Encourage your child to respect our planet and to accept her role in protecting it. Check out our suggested Earth Day tips and activities.

With busy schedules and alluring electronics inside the home, it is often difficult to give your children the time outdoors you enjoyed as a child. This month, PBS KIDS is encouraging families across the country to get outside.  With a little planning and creativity, getting your kids to enjoy the outdoors, specifically at your local park, can benefit your children’s physical, mental and emotional development. Just For You: Call the Midwife Season 6

It’s 1962 and times are changing from the beacon of the contraceptive pill and the shadow of infamous gangsters, to the new welfare policies introduced by the government. As they strive to help mothers and families cope with the demands of childbearing, disability, disease and social prejudice, our beloved medics must make choices – and fight battles – of their own… Sundays, beginning April 2, 7:00-8:00pm on LPB.

#ValueLPB

LPB is Louisiana’s largest classroom, providing quality children’s programs 24/7 and resources for more than 40,000 teachers in Louisiana’s public, private and parochial schools.  Three out of four Louisiana residents place a “very high”, or “somewhat high” value on “children’s television programming that is educational and free from commercials,” according to a recent poll, conducted by the LSU Public Policy Research Lab.

We are encouraging everyone to contact their Representative and Senators to express their views about LPB and the proposed elimination of funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

We hope you enjoy some or all of these resources! Happy Spring!
