Tonight at 7, watch as David Letterman becomes the latest recipient of the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. Then at 8, look back to the night that Jay Leno became the 17th honoree. At 10PM on The Coroner, Mick's rival landlord is found dead on the beach and Jane must try to clear Mick's name.

On Finding Your Roots Tuesday at 7PM, actresses Tea Leoni and Gaby Hoffmann learn about their unknown ancestors. Next on part nine of The Vietnam War at 8PM, South Vietnam fights on its own as Richard Nixon and Henry Kissinger find a way out for America. The POW's return. At 10PM, American Experience presents the movie Last Days in Vietnam. Examine the final days of American presence in Saigon and the heroic efforts to help evacuate 135,000 South Vietnamese.

Wednesday at 7PM, see this month's edition of Louisiana Public Square. Louisiana is known as the "Sportsman's Paradise," but is it a paradise or a plethora of problems? Explore challenges that our hunters and anglers face. At 8 on Nature, nature’s biggest little secrets from mini nocturnal monkeys to sand-sculpting puffer fish. At 9PM, follow NOVA to uncover the secrets of nature's battleground - claws, fangs, horns, and all. At 10, FRONTLINE shows an intimate portrait of the ongoing economic crisis told through kids in the Midwest.

Happy Thanksgiving! After the dinner is done, settle down with the family to watch Anne of Green Gables: The Good Stars. Anne becomes a teenager and faces complex situations with friends, adults, and Gilbert. Then at 9PM, enjoy great music from Johnny Mathis, including "Misty," "Chances Are," "Stranger in Paradise," and much more. At 11PM, see an encore of Louisiana Public Square.

After you shop till you drop on Black Friday, get comfy and let Andre' Moreau tell you what's been going on in our state in the last week. Louisiana: The State We're In airs at 7PM. At 8PM, Great Performances presents a Broadways adaptation of the classic movie Holiday Inn, showcasing an Irving Berlin score. Then at 10:30 Josh Groban performs classic Broadway songs.

Saturday at 3PM, see the 2016 Anne of Green Gables, followed at 5 by an encore of Anne of Green Gables: The Good Stars. At 7 on The Beatles: Eight Days a Week - The Touring Years, Ron Howard examines the early years of the Fab Four. The British invasion continues at 9:30 with The Moody Blues: Days of Future Passed. The band performed the album in its entirety in Toronto during their 2017 world tour.

Sunday, enjoy lots of great music on LPB! At 3PM, go back to the 1930s and 40s with Big Band Years. Then move on to the 1960s with 60s Pop, Rock & Soul at 5PM. At 7 on Hitman: David Foster & Friends, the legendary producer is joined by Celine Dion, Josh Groban, and other stars. At 9PM, Australia's top-selling pop vocal group performs pop classics, Doo Wop, soul standards, Motown, and more on Human Nature: Jukebox.


LPB On Saturday, December 2 from 9 to 11AM at Boudreaux's in Baton Rouge, join Curious George as he gets ready for the holiday season at LPB’s "A Very Monkey Christmas Breakfast." You will get to take photos with Curious George and Santa Claus. The unmistakable sounds of carolers will fill the air while you enjoy a delicious breakfast. Create a memorable holiday experience! Tickets are $20 for LPB Kids Club members ($30 for non-members - children 12 months and under enter free).


LPB LPB and the Rotary Club of Baton Rouge are looking for the 2018 Louisiana Young Heroes. A Young Hero can be defined in many ways, but to those who know them they are exceptional students who devote their time, talents, and energy to make a difference. Now in its 23rd year, the Louisiana Young Heroes Awards annually honor students in grades 7-12 who excel in the classroom, serve their local communities, and sometimes demonstrate great personal courage in overcoming adversity.

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2018 Louisiana Young Heroes. Students must be enrolled in a Louisiana school (public, private or parochial) or home-schooled, and cannot be older than 19 years of age. Nomination forms can be downloaded and filled out or submitted through the online form at Letters of recognition, newspaper articles, and other supporting materials should be sent to support the nomination. Previous winners are not eligible. The deadline for entries is January 31, 2018. Winners will be announced on LPB’s weekly news and public affairs program Louisiana the State We’re In and on February 23, 2018 at 7PM. Louisiana Young Heroes Day will be Monday, April 16, 2018. The Young Heroes will be treated to a day full of activities in Baton Rouge, including a number of surprises.
