"Hortus Indicus Malabanicus" is a detailed engraving from the first complete Flora from the East Indies by Hendrik A. Van Rheede. The 12-volume work was published in 1686 in Amsterdam. Each plant is inscribed with the plants' name in Latin, as well as Malayalan, Arabic and Sanskrit. The work describes and depicts 740 plants in certain portions of Asia. The print image measures 17"x14". With the mat and frame, the overall piece is 29"x26". This beautiful antique print has been donated by Bienville Custom Framing in Baton Rouge.
